Pacific Chamber Orchestra has invited Lamorinda Village to their Spring performance on Saturday April 27 @ 7:30 at LOPC. It features music by composers Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel, Felix Mendelssohn and Max Bruch with Virtuoso Violin Soloist Livia Sohn.
These composers are from the Romantic Era in Western music, roughly 1810 to 1920. You will experience:
Max Bruch’s Violin Concerto #1 in G Minor (1868) as articulated by Livia Sohn’s dazzling solos. Musicologists say it takes about 10 years to learn how to play this piece; it is performed throughout the world to this day.
Fanny Mendelssohn Hensel’s Overture for Orchestra in C Major (1830 -1832) is described as a small work (about 10 min. long) with great power, sparkling melodies and ‘evocative orchestrations.’ This means you are taken on an emotional journey you want to be on.
Felix Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 3 in A Minor, “Scottish” (1842) is woven from centuries old stories; his beautiful melodies will leave you spellbound.
HERE is a sample of Maestro Kohl on Bruch and Mendelssohn's Upcoming Concert.
