 Welcome to Diablo Valley Villages - A Hub for Community, Connection and Healthy Aging
Across California and beyond, Villages are reimagining what it means to age in place. These grassroots, volunteer-driven communities empower older adults to remain in their homes and neighborhoods—connected, supported, and thriving.
Villages coordinate local volunteers, organize social programs, and help members access the services they need—from a ride to the doctor to a tech help visit to a friendly check-in call. The goal is simple but powerful: to make aging at home safer, healthier, and more connected. Our Role as the Hub:
Diablo Valley Villages serves as the central hub supporting a growing network of Village communities—called "spokes"—throughout the region. Our hub-and-spoke model allows each spoke to focus on building local relationships and programs while the hub provides the shared support structure that makes it all possible. The hub offers: Administrative support and systems Shared technology platforms and training Financial and insurance guidance Program toolkits and volunteer resources A collaborative network to learn and grow together This model makes it easier to launch new Villages, sustain existing ones, and ensure that more older adults—regardless of neighborhood—have access to the care and connection that Villages provide. Meet Our Spokes Clayton Valley Village An all-volunteer-run Village founded in 2015, Clayton Valley Village has become a strong community of neighbors helping neighbors. It offers transportation, social events, home services, and member support throughout Clayton and nearby areas. Mount Diablo Village (website coming soon) Currently in development, Mount Diablo Village is a brand-new spoke focused on serving the Walnut Creek area. With funding and mentorship from the hub, this Village is being built by dedicated volunteers who are eager to create a vibrant support network for older adults in their community. San Ramon Valley Village San Ramon Valley Village is an established nonprofit serving Danville, Alamo, and San Ramon. As a prospective spoke, SRVV is exploring integration with the hub to enhance sustainability, share resources, and strengthen community impact across the region.
