VILLAGE MEMBERS: If you live in an area that is particularly difficult for public transportation, we need your input at this event.
As senior advocates, I know you are aware of the need for appropriate, accessible and affordable transportation for our frail elderly and disabled clients. Contra Costa has several transportation providers, but often times it can be a complex non-person centered system. As our community ages, it is time we take a look at the possibility of investing in a system that can service this population with accessible transportation.
Please join us at the Senior Transportation Summit on Friday, September 29th at 9:00 AM at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek. Congressman Mark DeSaulnier will give welcoming remarks to kick off a day filled with information as to how we as a community can work together to provide solutions to transportation for our aging community members. It will be an opportunity to listen and learn from transportation advocates and providers while learning about accessible transportation in Contra Costa County, and how we can work together to provide solutions.
Admission is free and lunch will be provided.
