This month's topic: "Leaves of Grass": Once you see the beauty of grass, you can lose yourself for hours in a
vacant lot or quiet prairie. Learn how to make a careful scientific
illustration of grass species you find in the field. Learn tricks to
help you handle and delight in the calligraphy of twisted leaves.
Discover ways to draw a distant grassy field, capturing the feel of
clumps of bunchgrass. This workshop will be great preparation for our
upcoming trip to the coastal prairie!
Do you want to keep a nature journal or bump your current practice to a higher orbit? Join us for our monthly workshop series, and see the possibilities of what a journal can be! If you already have a journal kit, bring it along plus any personal favorite sketching or nature study supplies.
In this class you will:
•Learn the practices that makes journaling a lifelong habit (and what does not work).
•Get tips to help you to set up your journaling kit.
•Participate in a journal kit show and tell
•Discover field tested logistics of sketching in the field.
•Learn the foundational strategy to draw any subject.
All ages and experience levels welcome. Wednesday after the second Tuesday of each month. See www.johnmuirlaws.com/events for this month's special topic.
