We will view End Game, a 40-minute documentary filmed at the UCSF Palliative Center and Zen Hospice Project. It focuses on the often emotional choices that people make about how they want to die. Dr. Steve Pantilat and the doctors and nurses at UCSF and the Zen Hospice Project offer guidance to their patients and their families, but ultimately it is they who must decide what is best for them. The film follows several families as they go through this difficult and intense process. End Game was shown at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and was launched on Netflix on May 4.
Be prepared for a heartfelt discussion amongst Village members and friends, led by Roy Powell from the East Bay Conversation Project (he also volunteers with Hospice of the East Bay).
"I think it's healthy people who think about how they want to die and sick people who think about how they want to live", Dr. Steve Pantilat in End Game.
