Kindness Matters - An art exhibit of Lamorinda middle school students. Sponsored by the Moraga Lions Club.
This year 220 students in the Lamorinda area submitted art work for an international competition conducted by Lions clubs in over 200 countries. On display in the Teen Center are the winners from Orinda Intermediate School, Stanley Middle School and Joaquin Moraga Intermediate school. This years theme, "KINDNESS MATTERS," complements the iKIND program which is presently in place in our area. The posters are amazing and graphically imagine what kindness looks like.
The contest is open to students ages 11-13 and this is the 15th year Lamorinda schools have participated. The Lions are grateful to the dynamic art teachers in our three intermediate schools who are able to elicit this level of creativity.
The mission of the Moraga iKind project is to promot kindness and courtesy, to foster courage and bravery, based on the belief that empathy and inclusion constitute the foundation on which community is built.
