Rosemary Kennedy, younger sister of JFK, was lobotomized at age 23 and then sent to live in a rural convent. She remained there for the rest of her life, and wasn't visited by her family for over two decades. Author Elizabeth Koehler-Pentacoff, niece to Rosie's caretaker Sister Paulus, began visiting Rosie in 1962, and forged a friendship. Hear the author talk about the their friendship, her attempt to understand why the lobotomy happened in the first place, and the surprising good that came from what is otherwise a tragedy.
