This course is designed as an interactive educational experience which allows for class discussion. While we hope participants can attend all ten weeks of the course, it is not mandatory. We are allowing for up to 30 participants to accommodate good group activity each week if several should miss a week here or there. The 90-minute classroom time will allow for the core program that week, plus some social and question/answer time for those who may have missed a previous week.

BE! Brain Enrichment Course

This 8-week course of one hour interactive sessions will be facilitated by the staff from Eldercare Services, Inc. The classes will be held in a classroom setting for the best learning and interaction.

BE! Brain Enrichment is an interactive educational experience for adults with normal age-related memory changes. Research shows that continued participation in mentally stimulating activities throughout the lifespan can help slow cognitive decline and has the potential to reduce the risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease. In ten, one-hour interactive sessions participants will:

  • Learn about the brain’s processes of attention, working memory, long-term memory, reasoning, and problem-solving
  • Participate in mental exercises to engage and stimulate the brain
  • Learn about lifestyle practices for maintaining brain health
  • Practice strategies for improving thinking and memory

One goal of this course is for participants’ learning to transfer to tasks of daily living such as attention, word-finding, remembering names, and planning.
