Nobuko Miyamoto is an award winning dancer, singer, and actor who has performed on Broadway and in films (West Side Story and The King and I). With Chris Ijiyama, she recorded a groundbreaking album of Asian-American folk music A Grain of Sand: Music for the Struggle by Asians in America. She is an author and the subject of the film "Nobuko Miyamoto: A Song in Movement.
Join us in the Town Hall Theater for a screening of the film "Nobuko Miyamoto: A Song in Movement” detailing Miyamoto's rich lifelong commitment to civil rights, creativity, multiculturalism, mothering, community, justice and strength inspired in part by her beginnings as a childhood survivor of Japanese internment.
