Growing Edibles and Ornamentals in Containers
This talk will inspire you to have your own home garden even with limited space. It will include tips for selecting and preparing containers for planting and managing them for the best results. The presentation includes tips for creating attractive container arrangements that combine vegetables or herbs with flowers.
Presenter Terry Lippert first learned gardening skills by helping her mother plant and tend a summer vegetable garden while growing up in Idaho. She became a UC Master Gardener volunteer in 2010 after retiring from her career as a business attorney. Terry is an active volunteer and has contributed over 4,500 hours to the program. She has grown vegetables, fruit and herbs year-round in the Bay Area for over thirty years. When she moved from a home with a large backyard garden to a condominium, she increased her use of containers to create more planting areas. Terry also served several years as Coordinator for the Master Gardeners Help Desk and continues to try to spend at least one day each week answering Help Desk questions.
